Our story
In 2023, the four of us were sitting in different war rooms — at fintechs, healthcare scale-ups, marketplaces — all hitting the same wall. The data team had a forty-ticket backlog. The PM wanted yesterday's number by lunch. The CFO wanted last quarter's, fully reconciled, by end of week. Everyone was waiting on the same six analysts.
We tried the obvious things. Self-serve BI tools that were neither self-serve nor BI. LLM wrappers that hallucinated joins. Notebooks that nobody outside data could read. None of it solved the actual problem: getting trusted answers to non-engineers, fast.
So we built Synapse. The question is the input. The verified SQL is the output. The lineage is the receipt. And the data team gets their afternoons back.
